Friday Night Lights

Well this was a crazy day .....earlier in the week I ordered the coaches and the kids at Bangor T-shirts for this weeks game against Gobles. I left work as soon as the shirt were delivered and raced to Bangor to catch Matt and the team before the game. On the back of the shirts I had "The season for Tornadoes" printed. There is a story about this that Matt shared with the boys and was the theme for the week. I was soo excited to surprise Matt and the team that when I got there I spoke like a total dork! Samantha is sure that the team thinks I am a dork even though Matt claimed I was his "hot wife". They all liked the shirts and seemd happy to have a little motivation for the night.

This game was going to be tough to win but I never thought that Bangor would struggle as much as they did. The game ended with Bangor barley getting on the score board with a score of 46-6.

Bangor is now 2-2.

Thursday Night Football

This was spencers fourth football game of the season and his second win. Spencer has worked very hard at getting better this season and has now earned a starting position on the defense. I am so thankful that spencer decided to play football this year. Partly because I love to watch him play and partly because this year he actually has "coaches" instead of just some of the kids dads out there. Spencer has truly grown this year and worked harder at being a better athlete and team player. He is begining to see how important it is to just focus on his own job on the field. If he can see everyone elses job then he is not focused in on his responsiblity. He is committed to being a team player and working hard, not that he wasnt before, but I think he is more committed. That is something that makes me smile....Go Iron Man! (the award given for never missing a practice/game)

We Need More

At some point in life we need more than good advice, we need help. Somewhere on our journey we realize that we need more....

Although we may not see it or understand it, God says all things are for the good. At times I have wondered how the struggles in life can possibly be Good? I am frustrated and upset. How is this good? I have learned that it is through these struggles that god is helping me to grow. Growing is a blessing from God. WAIT, to clarify, I rarely see the blessing in the moments of struggle. But God always amazes me when I see his blessings! Its never where or when I expect them, but then one conversation can leave my heart changed forever. I am greatful that he can change my heart and bless each of us with answered prayers even if they are not where and when we expect or want them.

I Love all of the people that god has brought into my life to touch my heart. Thank you for giving me more......

A Day in Life

It was Monday, The boss was back from vacation, the kids got out of bed late, Samantha gave up driving to school so I could get the blazer fixed. Lauren needed help with multiplying positive and negative numbers, Spencer was tired from football and annoyed that he had homework in every class. Spencer and Samantha studied for a Geometry quiz together, I made dinner and found the laundry room. Matt had practice at Bangor, and the teacher/student open house. He got home in time to crawl into bed. This is living! :)

Friday Night Bangor Game

Friday night Bangor played Lawton. This was the one game that I wanted Matt to win this year. I seem to always pick one game that I really want Matt to win. Thank God he seems to always win that game. :) This year it was the Lawton game. Before every game this year I have taken a moment to think of Matt senior as he always said that Matt would be a head coach someday and he would be with me on the sidelines to watch. He had such faith in Matt. I knew that the Lawton game would be tough, and just as my heart was sinking at Lawton tying the score in the third...I looked up to talk to Matt senior and as I did there was a double rainbow in the sky. This was a sign for me that Dad was there and that we would be okay even if we didnt pull out a win.

Freshman Football (Spencer)

Tonight Spencer played Coldwater and his team finally won a game. Okay, so they did more than just win...the score was 46-6.
These boys really needed to win a game since I cant remeber when they one a game. I am very thankful that these boys came together as a team and were successful.
I am sure the boys and the coaches left the football field a little happier tonight knowing they succeded... even if it is just one game.

The Season

Well it is that time of year again. Football Season. One of my favorite things to do is watch my husband Coach football. Below is a quote that reminds me of my husband. He loves to give the kids a REASON.

They call it coaching but it is teaching. You do not just tell them - you show them the reasons. Vince Lombardi
